Hawaiian Turkey Melt

I’ve started a new meat and fruit diet. I was interested in trying this for a couple of reasons. It’s low carb and it’s anti inflammatory.

The idea is that eliminating vegetables, especially ones that contain lectins or oxalates helps in the treatment of autoimmune disorders.

However you can’t go all out with the fruit, you must limit to a small amount. I chose three particular fruits to include. Orange, pineapple and berries. And my servings are small.

So here is a recipe that incorporates meat and fruit. I start with deli style sliced turkey breast. To avoid the nitrates, I use oven roasted.

I chop about a fourth of a pound and sauté this in bacon drippings and diced pineapples. Spices for this dish is fresh ground black pepper and rosemary.

Let this simmer for a few minutes and serve with two slices of provolone cheese. Or if you need to, you could have this on toast. But bread or any grains is not included in my plan, so I ate it like this…

Yum! 🤤
